B2B procurement · Buyer guide
Inspect a sealed facial tissue box before the first pull, then separate loose cardboard particles at the die-cut opening from fibers released by the tissue itself. Photograph the opening, collect debris on a clean contrasting witness, and compare with an approved box and the same tissue stack outside the box. Record the carton and tissue IDs independently so the corrective action reaches the right process.

Direct answer
Inspect a sealed facial tissue box before the first pull, then separate loose cardboard particles at the die-cut opening from fibers released by the tissue itself. Photograph the opening, collect debris on a clean contrasting witness, and compare with an approved box and the same tissue stack outside the box. Record the carton and tissue IDs independently so the corrective action reaches the right process.
Inspect the opening before pulling
Use unopened boxes from several cartons. Under fixed light, photograph the die-cut edge, perforated flap and any window film before touching a sheet. Note torn board fibers, loose chips and dust inside the aperture. A facial tissue supplier should retain the empty box after sampling so the converter can see the actual cut quality.

Separate board debris from tissue lint
The facial tissue supplier should pull the first few sheets over a clean dark or contrasting witness. Then repeat with the same tissue stack removed from a clean box or with a controlled sheet reference, keeping handling equal. Distinguish colored board specks and stiff chips from soft white tissue fibers. Do not assign origin from a single photograph if the materials look similar.

Sample beyond one showcase box
Inspect boxes from multiple cartons and line positions, including cases near the pallet edge if transport may matter. Record chip count or an agreed visual grade, location, first-pull appearance and whether a flap was removed. Box dust can be created during die cutting, folding or later handling; the record should show where it was first visible.

Control the packaging change
Agree a signed opening-edge and first-sheet reference. Recheck when board grade, die condition, cutting setup, window film, folding or insertion changes. Treat a loose film edge separately from paperboard dust. If a buyer requires a hygiene or medical claim, request relevant product-specific evidence; this visual check does not establish it.
Buyer comparison record
| Check | Record | Buyer purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Before pull | Die-cut edge and flap | Locate board debris |
| Witness | Collected particles and appearance | Separate source |
| Sample | Boxes and cartons | See variation |
| Change | Board, die and fold revision | Prevent recurrence |

Questions buyers also ask
Is every white particle tissue lint?
No. Board coatings and tissue fibers can look similar; retain the box and particle.
Will a clean loose tissue stack qualify the box?
No. The die-cut opening must be checked on a sealed finished box.
Is window-film detachment the same defect?
No. Record film adhesion and board debris separately.
