Start with the live certificate record
Request the supplier’s certificate code and legal company name, then search the official FSC public certificate database. Check status and dates on the day of artwork approval. The bamboo tissue supplier named in an email may be a trader while a mill or converter holds the certificate. That difference matters because the company making the FSC claim on sales documents must be identified.
FSC explains that its public search displays certificate validity and the products within scope. A screenshot without a date can be stale. Save the certificate record used for the decision, and do not infer that every bamboo-based product from a certified group or affiliate is covered.
Match product group and transaction claim
Ask whether the proposed finished tissue format falls within the relevant product group and whether the invoiced claim type matches the planned package claim. A parent-roll record cannot automatically be applied to a newly converted private-label toilet roll. Map each step that buys, processes, repacks or sells claimed material, including outsourced conversion when applicable.
The bamboo tissue supplier should identify the exact retail SKU, fiber statement, pack size and approved claim wording. Ask who approves the mark, what license or certificate code belongs in the artwork file, and whether the final pack is covered by the documented chain.
