Facial Tissue Supplier: How to Check Box Fill Height?

Table of Contents

B2B procurement · Buyer guide

A facial tissue supplier should measure the folded stack before insertion, the inside box height and the clearance in a sealed finished box. Then test first, middle and last sheets for tearing or failed handoff. Sheet count alone does not fix stack height: ply, embossing, fold and compression can change how the same count dispenses.

This is a box-fill and usability plan, not a Sansheng stack-height result. It does not replace separate carton crush, first-pull force or tissue count tests.

Direct answer

A facial tissue supplier should measure the folded stack before insertion, the inside box height and the clearance in a sealed finished box. Then test first, middle and last sheets for tearing or failed handoff. Sheet count alone does not fix stack height: ply, embossing, fold and compression can change how the same count dispenses.

Measure the stack and box separately

Record sheet count, ply, folded footprint and stack height under an agreed light load. Measure the usable internal box height after board folding and window assembly. The facial tissue supplier should keep stack and box revision IDs together. A box drawing without actual folded-board dimensions may misstate the clearance available to the tissue.

Inspect compression after filling

Open sealed boxes from several cartons and compare stack height with retained loose stacks. Look for crushed top sheets, forced bulging or a large empty gap at the opening. ISO 12625-3:2014 measures tissue thickness and bulking thickness under its stated method; those readings inform construction but do not set the correct box-fill height.

Check dispensing through the box

Record first pull, several middle pulls and the final sheets using a fixed hand motion. Log torn first sheets, multiple dispensing, sheets falling back or a stack that cannot reach the opening. Repeat across boxes from different line positions. Distinguish box-fill effects from window-film edges, die-cut dust and tissue interfold design.

Set a fit window for repeat orders

Agree a target stack-height range, box internal-height tolerance and observable dispensing rule for the signed SKU. Recheck after changing sheet basis weight, ply, embossing, fold, count, board or box dimensions. Keep failed boxes with their carton and tissue lot IDs so both converting and box suppliers can investigate.

What should buyers ask the facial tissue supplier?

  • Approved tissue stack and box dieline
  • Stack-height and internal-height measurements
  • Sealed-box sampling and dispensing log
  • Target fit window and change-control rule

Questions buyers also ask

Does the right sheet count guarantee the right fill?

No. Sheet bulk and compression can change stack height at the same count.

Is box crush the same as overfilling?

No. External pallet load and internal stack fit need separate records.

Can thickness alone approve pop-up performance?

No. Test the finished interfolded stack in the actual box.

Sources and scope notes

  1. ISO 12625-3:2014 Supports: Thickness and bulking thickness of tissue under defined conditions. Limit: Does not set box-fill or dispensing limits.
  2. Sansheng facial tissue product page Supports: Identifies boxed tissue product context. Limit: Does not provide stack-height measurements for this article.

Request an identified sample review

Send the facial tissue supplier your exact SKU, approved sample, buying destination and evidence requirement. The record can then be matched to the decision before a quote or release.
